March Stamp Club

Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a nice weekend! My stamp clubs this month were a ton of fun, as they ALWAYS are, and I wanted to share this month's technique with you.  This cool technique is one that I learned while at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Texas in January.  It's mega quick and easy and I was worried the gals would think the technique was too 'cinchy' but everyone just LOVED it! It's also relaxing - a great project to use up your scraps of card stock and designer series paper AND zone out. LOL.  It's called the 'Herringbone Technique'.

Here are the wonderful ladies is my stamp club #3 - ALL ARE WELCOME to come and stamp with us! We have a ball! Click here for the details!

For our cards I cut (retired) card stock into 3x4".  Then I cut the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets into the same size and covered the card stock.  You now have a wonderful STICKY surface to play with and all you do is cover it with your strips of paper! It doesn't matter if your strips are thick or thin, it will work out beautifully!

Your table will become a mess with all the strips but hey, that's part of the fun!

No two cards will be alike.  And EVERY card turns out so pretty!

For our cards we used the Mixed Bunch Stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Punch.

Both of these new items are featured in the 2012 Occasions Mini.  I've been using this stamp set and punch a LOT!
Then we used scraps of designer series paper from the Sale-a-Bration 'Everyday Enchantment' and the Occasions "Twitterpated".  The flowers were punched out of Very Vanilla and Peach Parfait card stock and we used the Designer Printed brads.

The flowers were then popped onto the card with stamping dimensionals

The sentiments are from the Short and Sweet stamp set and was punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

This was the second card we made.  We only used the 'Everyday Enchantment' Designer Series Paper for the Herringbone technique.  The hearts were cut using the new Hearts Collection Framelit dies for the Big Shot and the card stock we used was Whisper White and Poppy Parade.  The branch for the flower was punched out with the Bird Builder Punch

You can get the coordinating Language of Friendship stamp set for FREE during Sale-a-Bration! Click here!)

This would be such a nice card for anniversary, wedding, as well as Valentines.

Here's a card sample I received at the Leadership Conference with the same layout. It was created by Chiaki Haverstick.

That's it for me! I'm off to enjoy the sunshine - it's so exciting to see all the green plants poking out of my flower beds!

HAPPY STAMPING!

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

Hi Everyone! I can't believe it's Wednesday already! I've been having such a good time with my new private classes ("Your Class, Your Way").  Last night my friend Shelly invited some ladies over to her house for her private card class and we had a ball! Shelly chose to make 4 cards and the occasions she picked were two birthday, one get well and one anniversary.  I brought all the supplies for the cards - everything was pre-cut and ready to be put together, keeping the cards quick and easy - the ladies loved them (even the self-proclaimed 'non-crafters!).  Here is one of the cards we made last night:

The Big Shot was a big hit (as it always is) and one of the ladies that attended couldn't wait to order hers (she's going to LOVE it!). We used the daisy die for the above card - isn't it sweet?
If you have a Big Shot, or want to try it out for yourself, I have a Big Shot class every month where we make 5 super cute projects.  Contact me for details and to reserve your spot.
FYI - when you purchase the Big Shot during Sale-a-bration you will receive TWO free SAB items of your choice (you can even chose two embossing folders)!
Click HERE to view the Sale-a-Bration catalogue online.

I recently held a class featuring the new Apothecary Art stamp set and coordinating Framelits Label Collection.  We had a lot of fun! The above photo shows the finished projects.  One of the cards is missing from the photo because it's a birthday card for someone and I don't want to show it yet (because I know she regularly visits my blog!).  I'll post it for on Monday.

Today I'll be making  my second video (thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback from my first one) - it will be posted on my blog tomorrow.  Also, I've been busy planning my new "CARD BUFFETS" and I'm so excited about them I could just burst!!! I'll have all the details ready for you tomorrow too and it will also be in my March newsletter. If you're not on my mailing list, sign up right away - you're missing out!  There's a mailing list box on my sidebar, just enter your email address and you'll get my newsletters with the list of upcoming events, projects, tutorials and more!

The deadline to RSVP for the Spring Fever Scrapbook Class is coming up! Click here for details - samples of the class project will posted on my blog on Friday.

Enjoy the day and HAPPY STAMPING!

New Stamp Set SNEAK PEAK!

Today I finally got around to playing with the 'Bright Blossoms' stamp set we received as a gift at the Managers Reception in San Antonio.
This set (and the coordinating Designer Series Paper, fabric, etc) will be available to purchase during the month of April and then you won't be able to get until the new catty comes out.  Stampin' Up! demonstrators can pre-order the whole product suite during the month of March!  I'll be having a special event in April featuring all these new Stampin' Up! items and I can promise you won't want to miss it - details will be coming soon.
I created the background on Whisper White card stock and the  Bright Blossoms stamp set.  I used the classic ink pads and markers in Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Not Quite Navy and Bashful Blue.  Then I used the new  Label Collection Framelits to cut out my art piece.  I covered it with Versamark ink and embossed the whole piece with Iridescent Ice. The 'Live in the Sunshine' sentiment (which I love) comes from the
'Pursuit of Happiness' stamp set. The roses are really easy to make.  Simply punch out a circle, cut it to make a spiral then twirl on anything from a chop stick to your paper piercing tool! Secure the bottom with a glue dot.  These flowers are so much fun to make and are a perfect way to use up scrap paper!  I added pearls to the centres of the flowers. The leaves were made with my Big Shot and the Little Leaves sizzlits die. I also added a couple of rhinestones to the sentiment for some BLING.  Gotta have bling, Ladies. Makes ya hap-hap-happy!

I LOVE this stamp set. It's really fun to play with.

FYI - I am a big fan of Mary Engelbreit and this is soooo her style!  Her artwork is so cheery and fun!

On this card I used the background piece left over from the first card that was cut with the label framelit die.  Then I stamped and cut a second set of leaves, the tulip and vase and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to raise the image. I also used my circle punches and card stock to add dimension to the stamped background. A little dazzling diamonds and the white gel pen added the finishing touches! The sentiment on this card comes from the 'Friendly Phrases' stamp set and I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to reposition the words (tricky with the clear stamps, lemme tell ya!).
Did you know that you can purchase Stampin' Up! product 24/7 through my online store and have your order delivered right to your door? And don't forget about the fantastic Sale-a-Bration promotion - there are only 4 weeks left until is over for another year! For every $60 you spend you can choose any Sale-a-Bration item for FREE! Don't miss out!!!!

HAPPY STAMPING!
